In 1925, a British bloke by the name Alfred Watkins wrote a book called 'The Old Straight Track'.
In this book he coined the term 'ley lines'. Ley lines are unseen lines that are drawn all across the Earth's surface and they tend to connect sites of great cultural or religious importance and power. In example of these sites: certain archaeological ruins and burial grounds, the Pyramids of Giza, the Bermuda Triangle, the Nazca Lines, Stonehenge, and so forth. The ley lines can also be thought as pathways of significant energy across the globe. Many disciplines of thought purport that our own bodies have channels of energy and portals for energy to travel inward and outward. The most common expression for the pathways would be 'meridians' and for the portals, 'chakras'. So it is with the Earth. There are ley lines and other sorts of pathways of energy and there are portals or vortices. The significance of the earth lines and portals is analogous to the significance of the ones within the body- they are utilized in the optimal state of tapping into a higher consciousness or realm where para-ordinary things transpire. Of course much of this is all theory, like anything else, or seeing what one wants to see. Yet many have felt the effects and truths. There are many fascinating writings and articles on this topic.
